Living Memorial
The living funeral is a religious or non-religious celebration focused on someone who is still alive.
Living funerals can be whatever you want. There aren't rules or guidelines to follow. They can be large and public or small and intimate. Family reunions are a popular venue in which to hold an end of life celebration because they bring everyone together in a casual environment. These events are often similar to traditional funerals, memorial services or celebration of life ceremonies, except the intended individual is not deceased. He or she typically has a terminal disease or another ailment and senses that his or her life will soon end.
They allow people to reunite, say good-bye, show gratitude and mend broken relationships. Whereas conventional funerals are, in many ways, for the survivors, a living funeral or celebration of life service is for everyone. It also gives everyone (not just close family) a chance to say intimate heartfelt goodbyes, and to offer well-wishes for a happy journey to the next life.
Elderly or terminally ill people can often feel isolated and alone - the simple gesture of arranging a party in their honor can make a huge difference in how they feel for the time they have left. The messages exchanged on this occasion will be a priceless gift for the Guest of Honor, to be cherished.
